From the Author

Why This Book

I Want You to Be Well was born out of a deeply personal journey and a growing conviction that so many of us in Africa are carrying wounds we were never given language for. We were told to be strong. We were told to move on. We were told that what happened at home stays at home.

This book is an invitation to name what happened. To understand it. And to believe, perhaps for the first time, that we don’t have to pass it on.

The intergenerational cycle of trauma is real. But so is the possibility of healing. And it starts with one person who decides the cycle ends with them.
